Shameless Light is a collaborative performance that began in 2016, one month after the election of Donald Trump. In our fury, we decided to use love as a form of resistance and radical action. Shameless Light is a performance of love letters by women identified queers and began in Carrizzozo, New Mexico at the Lyric Theatre. This documentation is from the first iteration of Shameless Light, which went on to become a part of a performative gesture before screening Strangely Ordinary This Devotion in later years. Included in the performance space is a projection of a looping video Kitchen Circle for Ackerman (2016). Shameless Light privileges love as a generative and unruly act through creating a space to listen to marginalized desire and love.
